Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated 2 stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more conventional and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Pierre Halley and Samuel Durand founded this winery in 2017 in the foothills of the Larzac region, 20 kilometers from Montpellier, fulfilling a childhood dream. The lineup features rosés, whites, and reds produced from 15 hectares of vineyards divided into small plots and cultivated using organic methods. The reds are remarkably easy to drink, with well-integrated tannins and an accessible, delicate, and flavorful style. One to watch closely.

About the estate:

Pierre Halley, who gradually took over the vineyards from his uncle—a member of a wine cooperative—and Samuel Durand, a former sommelier, established a winery in 2017 in the heart of the garrigue, in Argelliers. The estate comprises 15 hectares of vineyards, currently in the process of converting to organic farming, divided into small plots across two vineyards—Font-Belette and Les Champs de Traversiers—at an altitude of over 200 meters.
