Terre de L'Élu - Roc'h Avel blanc 2025
"A sincere and vibrant vintage, a tribute to Brittany"
This wine, a blend of Chenin and Sauvignon Blanc, captivates with its dry, intensely aromatic style. The nose opens with notes of grapefruit, then evolves into aromas of yellow fruit and fresh almond. On the palate, the balance is remarkable: full-bodied and generous, carried by a lovely liveliness. The finish, fresh and briny, is accompanied by delicate hints of anise.

Rated estate (2026 guide) 1*Star (Rising stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a good standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
It’s impossible not to be impressed by the bold wines of Terre de l’Élu (formerly Clos de l’Élu before the Anjou AOP was discontinued in 2019). Since settling in Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné in 2008, Charlotte and Thomas Carsin have established themselves as some of the most creative winemakers in the entire Loire Valley. With over 25 hectares of vineyards, a variety of schist soils, and seven grape varieties—a diversity of elements that would daunt any new winemaker—the couple has turned these challenges into strengths, cultivating the distinct identities of unique cuvées born of this terroir stemming from the Armorican Massif. Some traditional palates may occasionally find them perplexing, but so what! These wines will certainly leave an impression.
