Wine rated 91/100 (Wonderful wine)
About wine:
The Bourgueil Peu Muleau 2018 comes from the top of the hillside and offers a beautiful fresh and aromatic bouquet, very intense, with stony terroir aromas intertwined with bright and transparent but ripe and concentrated aromas of black and red fruits, cherry and pepper. Round and full-bodied on the palate, with soft, fine tannins, this is a supple, smooth, warm and fleshy Cabernet Franc with a long, intense finish. Truly excellent.

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About wine:
A sensation of fresh grapes animates this Cabernet, which is full-bodied and bursting with vitality. A delicious wine that does not suffer from the excessive richness of its sunny vintage. Drink within five years.
About the estate:
Emmanuel Caslot and his sister Laurie lovingly and meticulously continue the work of thirteen generations in this historic Bourgueil estate. Here, Cabernet Franc is vinified with real gentleness to express the nuances of the sandy, clay, and limestone terroirs of the lower, middle, and upper slopes. Each label is judiciously adorned with a color that reflects the intensity and complexity of the wine: from bright red for the Peu Muleau to deep purple for the Grand-Mont. These absolute references in Bourgueil highlight the fine, cool austerity of Cabernet Franc, cloaked in a magnificent smooth texture. Let's salute the bottle aging in the tuffeau cellars before they are released for sale.

Warm and cheerful, this Cabernet Franc displays beautiful vitality and a supple, indulgent texture dominated by fresh red fruit and soft, silky tannins. Fresh and fragrant finish. At its peak, this lovely wine for sharing went well with oven-roasted pork accompanied by chanterelle mushrooms.
