Domaine Bernard Baudry

Bernard Baudry, born into a family of winemakers in Cravant, began his career as a wine consultant at the laboratory in Tours alongside Jacques Puisais after studying oenology in Beaune. In 1975, he took over a small 2-hectare estate in the Chinon appellation in the Loire Valley. Today, Domaine Bernard Baudry spans 30 hectares across various soil types, a diversity that allows for plot-specific winemaking principles, where each wine is distinguished by the character of its terroir.

The vineyards at Domaine Bernard Baudry are managed with respect for the environment, featuring intensive vineyard work and hand-harvesting. At Domaine Bernard Baudry,“in each of our cuvées, we seek to express the elegance, purity, and aromatic freshness of Cabernet Franc, in harmony with each of our terroirs.” This is the motto of Bernard Baudry, now joined by his son Mathieu, as they produce great Loire wines that are highly prized by wine enthusiasts.
