Crémant de Loire
The Crémant de Loire AOC was recognized on October 17, 1975, and covers three vineyards: Touraine, Anjou, and Saumur. The size of the appellation offers several climatic nuances and a wide variety of soils.
Chenin and Chardonnay are the two star grape varieties of this appellation, but we also find black grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pineau d'Aunis, etc.) used alone or in blends. Crémant de Loire is subject to strict specifications, including manual harvesting, open-top crates, a minimum of 12 months' aging on slats, limited pressing, and more. Benefiting from the traditional expertise of winegrowers and merchants, as well as favorable production conditions, Crémant de Loire has gradually developed.
