Montgilet Estate
The Domaine de Montgilet was founded in the 1880s and is now owned by the Lebreton family. The estate enjoys a well-established national reputation today and continues to devote ever greater care to the production of its wines. The Domaine de Montgilet primarily produces wines under the Coteaux de l’Aubance appellation, made from grapes selected for noble rot, and offered in five cuvées based on the sugar content of the selected grapes and their specific plot origins. The Domaine de Montgilet also produces wines under the AOC Anjou, AOC Cabernet d’Anjou, and AOC Crémant de Loire appellations. The estate’s terroirsconsistof three different types of schist: clay over blue schist, the Angers-Trélazé slate massif, clay loam over gray schist and schist weathering products, and clay loam over sandstone schist and purple schist.
