About the domain :

The Pellé family have deep roots in the Menetou-Salon appellation, and their work in the vineyard and winery is impressive. Since 2006, Paul-Henri has been re-enchanting this family-run address, which is improving in quality. The emphasis on plot-based cuvées and the mastery of ageing in wood, with an increasing use of large containers (foudres and vats), contribute to the excellence of the domaine, which has added a further requirement with organic farming certification since 2021.

About the wine:

Les Cris 2021 is in top form today. It illustrates the freshness of the vintage and its northern terroir. It takes off with a finesse and straightforwardness that will need to be appeased at the table.

About the domain :

Paul-Henry Pellé, Anne's son, is in charge of the vineyards and vinifications: this demanding winemaker, who never ceases to refine soil work and ageing methods, is fully committed to the quest for optimal ripeness and varied terroir expression. Meticulous vinification produces crisp, refreshing whites (Morogues), as well as deeper wines that reflect the uniqueness of each terroir: Le Carroir (old vines on flint), Vignes de Ratier (solar terroir of Kimmeridgian marl), Les Blanchais (northeast-facing Kimmeridgian marl). Well constituted, the reds may show some deviation.

About the wine:

Discreet nose. No sparkle but convincing minerality. Rather pure, certainly a valuable alternative to a Côte de Beaune. Dry as a bone. Another wine for purists. No flashy fruit, either on the nose or palate.
