Domaine Pellé

The Domaine Pellé is located around the village of Morogues, at the easternmost edge of the Loire Valley, which wraps around its beautiful church, meadows, and hillsides, and is home to the cellars of the estate. Winemakers for generations, the Pellé family has been producing wines in the Menetou-Salon appellation since its creation in 1959. The histories of the appellation and Domaine Pellé are intertwined; together, they have come of age and gained recognition.

The Domaine Pellé vineyard is situated on Kimmeridgian-type clay-limestone marl from the Loire, also known as “oreille de poule” (chicken’s ear) or “terre blanche” (white earth). The vineyards are managed using sustainable viticulture practices; soil management and green pruning allow the terroir to express itself fully while ensuring controlled yields. Led by Anne Pellé and her son, Paul-Henry, Domaine Pellé has become a leader and the foremost ambassador of the Menetou-Salon appellation—the pride of the Berry region—and transitioned to organic farming in 2020.
