Bettane & Desseauve
Bottled in May 2014 after 18 months of aging on fine lees, Menetou-Salon Les Renardières is a very attractive wine with an open, balanced, and elegant bouquet of celery, fennel seed, and white fruits. These aromas are enhanced by a delicately spicy touch from the clay-limestone soils. On the palate, this 100% Sauvignon is rich, complex and elegant, powerfully structured, yet still young and crisp, with flavors of star fruit, gooseberry, yeast and hazelnut on the finish." About wine:
We have richness and tension with a nicely balanced texture.
About the estate:
Philippe Gilbert is a winemaker of great integrity who has been working as naturally as possible for several vintages. The estate has just launched a wine bar, Le Fluteau, where you can find wines from the estate and those of fellow winemakers.

Wine rated (2015 guide) 15,5/20 (Good wine)
Rated estate (2016 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About wine:
The Les Renardières cuvée offers extra density, length, and complexity, but it will need to be aged a little longer.
About the estate:
Owner Philippe Gilbert has been working with oenologist Jean-Philippe Louis since the estate's quality revival twelve years ago. It is thanks to him that the vineyard has been converted to biodynamic farming (Biodyvin label). The Renardières cuvées are made from the oldest Pinot Noir and Sauvignon vines. The whites have gained depth and a salty finish in recent vintages. After a period of heavy oak aging, the reds have gained finesse without losing their maturity, and are gradually becoming more precise.
