The nose expresses heady floral and pastry notes, followed by verbena, then reveals a rich and sunny profile when aerated. The palate is beautifully rich, fluid and tangy with yellow and white fruit flavors, ending with a salty finish accented by citrus zest.

Wine rated 14.5/20 (2018 vintage) (Good wine)

Rated estate (2025 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

Located in the village of Verdigny, this organic estate (16 hectares of Pouilly-Fumé, five hectares of Sancerre), created in the 1960s by Raymond Tabordet, is skillfully managed by his two sons, Yvon and Pascal, who have expanded it. Today, Pascal works with his son Marius and his nephew Gaël. The wines are very palatable with just the right amount of complexity.

Rated estate (2025 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

Marius Tabordet is part of the younger generation shaking things up in Pouilly-Fumé (16 ha) and Sancerre (6 ha). He earned the trust of his father Pascal and initiated the shift to organic farming (certification in 2021), then began the conversion to biodynamics. The winemaking and aging processes have been adjusted to produce freer wines, a far cry from the narrow whites still found in the area. Vinification and aging techniques have been adjusted to produce freer wines, a far cry from the narrow-minded whites still found in the area. And the entire clientele has changed! The wines are now closer to their terroir. The sincerity, meticulousness, smoothness, and deliciousness of these vintages delight us. This is evident in the delicious "domain" vintages, both red and white. We also applaud the work done to isolate the vintages by terroir type: in Pouilly-Fumé, Les Petites Aubues (limestone), Les Champs des Chaumes (Kimmeridgian marl), L'Autre Rive (flint); and in Sancerre, La Belle Oreille (limestone). Welcome to the guide!
