Frédéric Mabileau
Domaine Frédéric Mabileau has a 27-hectare vineyard in production. Recognizing the importance of sustainable agriculture, he decided in 2007 to convert his entire vineyard to organic farming, a commitment now recognized by ECOCERT certification. In August 2020, Frédéric Mabileau died suddenly in a microlight accident.

Domaine Frédéric Mabileau is situated on terroir composed mainly of sand and gravel. A large proportion of the vines, ranging from 35 to 50 years old, have deep roots that allow them to draw nourishment from deep within the soil. On the gently sloping hillsides, more opulent and structured wines are produced. The neighboring Bourgueil, meanwhile, offers more clay-rich soils that produce wines with greater body.

Committed to preserving the integrity of the grapes from vine to vat, Domaine Frédéric Mabileau harvests the entire vineyard by hand and sorts the grapes on two successive sorting tables (before and after the destemmer). All these factors result in fuller-bodied grapes that ripen better, rebalancing the acidity to produce supple, round, and concentrated wines. A must-visit destination in Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil!
