Rated estate (2026 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

After taking over part of his uncle’s vineyards—his uncle being a member of a wine cooperative—the young Florent Barichard produced his first vintage in 2013. Together with his partner Éric Nesson, they carry out meticulous work on a plot-by-plot basis. The use of native yeasts and aging in concrete tanks results in ripe, fresh, and lively whites that are helping to revitalize the local wine scene. Since single-varietal wines are prohibited in the Saint-Pourçain appellation, these wines are classified as Vin de France.
