Rated estate (2026 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

After taking over part of the vineyards from his uncle, a member of the cooperative, the young Florent Barichard produced his first vintage in 2013. Together with his partner Éric Nesson, they carry out meticulous work on a plot-by-plot basis. The use of native yeasts and aging in concrete tanks results in ripe, fresh, and lively whites that are helping to revitalize the local wine scene. Since they are prohibited in the Saint-Pourçain appellation, wines made from single grape varieties are classified as Vin de France.
