Domaine Paul Prieur & Fils
Winemakers in Sancerre for 11 generations, the Paul Prieur & Fils estate is located at the top of the village of Verdigny, at the foot of the Monts Damnés hill. Today, Luc Prieur has been running the estate (since the 2012 vintage) with a sincere, passionate, and artisanal approach. The Sauvignon Blanc vines are concentrated on the limestone terroirs of Verdigny and Chavignol across 14.5 hectares (Caillottes and Terres Blanches), as well as on the Silex terroirs of the village of Thauvenay, on the banks of the Loire.
The reds are produced at the "Les Pichons" site. This 5-hectare site is virtually a monopoly of the Paul Prieur & Fils estate, planted in the 1950s using mass selection. It adjoins the estate and is situated below the Monts Damnés hill.
The estate’s vines are cultivated using traditional methods and are 100% organic. The first AB-certified vintage will be in 2022. Herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides are prohibited.
