Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
The arrival of the talented Jean-Philippe Louis as technical director has breathed new life into this “sleeping beauty” of the Saumur region, where the soil is clay-limestone and the sun shines generously. The 2018 vintages herald the estate’s resurgence, with a red cuvée from old vines offering a full-bodied fruitiness. The Clos-des-Oratoriens, a white wine, needs a bit more time to develop. Stay tuned!
