Château de Villeneuve

The Château de Villeneuve is located on a plateau overlooking the Loire River, offering breathtaking views of the wild river. A magnificent 18th-century residence, the Château de Villeneuve is built from the stone that gives the region its nobility: tuffeau. The 25 hectares surrounding the Chevallier family's property produce complex wines with great personality in the Saumur and Saumur-Champigny appellations.

The Château de Villeneuve vineyard is cultivated using sustainable methods, favoring grass cover between the rows with bluegrass to optimize rooting and water supply to the vines.

Château de Villeneuve's AOC Saumur and AOC Saumur-Champigny wines are vinified in the shelter of cellars dug into the tuffeau limestone, where the temperature remains constant at 12°C. The Saumur Champigny and Saumur Blanc wines are aged in 400- to 500-liter barrels known locally as "tonnes." Since the 15th century, the wines of Château de Villeneuve have always been highly prized by lovers of Loire wines.
