In Vouvray, Vincent Carême has established his brilliant style. Pure, precise, and luminous, the wines are priced between 15 and 20 euros and offer excellent value for money. The most recent vintages are among the most accomplished of the estate and the appellation. Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2027 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the estate:

Vincent Carême upholds his fine reputation with this cuvée made from old (60-year-old) Chenin vines located on the lower slopes of Vouvray. Smoky, fruity (white peach, lemon), and with subtle vanilla notes, the nose is captivating. Well-aged (12 months in barrels), well-structured, and carried by a lovely tart freshness, the palate adds notes of ripe fruit (pineapple, quince) to a full-bodied and stimulating profile. Suitable for aging and pairing with fine dining, it can also be enjoyed young (after aeration).

About the estate:

The Vincent Carême estate, then known as Domaine de la Haute Borne, was founded in 1999 by the winemaker of the same name on 2.5 hectares of land he acquired to grow grapes. At that time, the estate featured a 16th-century cave cellar. The estate began its transition to organic farming in 2003 and was certified in 2007. As of 2017, Vincent Carême manages 17 hectares of vineyards.
