Kumeu River

Kumeu River is a family story—the story of the Brajkovich family. Arriving from Croatia in 1937, the family initially worked as vineyard laborers before purchasing their first land in 1944. Michael Brajkovich, a third-generation member of the family, has elevated the Kumeu River estate to new heights thanks to his deep knowledge of viticulture and his winemaking experience in France. In 1989, he earned the prestigious Master of Wine designation, becoming the first New Zealander to do so.
