"Fresh, silky, and subtly concentrated, it shows its fruit essence on the tongue. [...] The fresh, fruity sensation makes it both smooth and flavorful. It also has ripe tannins. It can be kept for a while, but don't hesitate to drink it as soon as it's released." (Wine Advocate 2019 - Mark Squires)

About wine:
The Cedro do Noval 2017, bottled about three weeks before this tasting, is a blend of 55% Touriga Nacional, 25% Syrah, 15% Touriga Franca, and the remainder Tinto Cão, all aged for 14 months in French oak barrels of varying ages. (This Syrah, of course, means that it has the regional appellation Duriense, not the Douro DOC.) Fresh, silky, and subtly concentrated, it shows its fruit essence on the tongue. The Syrah brings its typical characteristics but not those of game. This is another red that seems to benefit from the 2017 vintage. The fresh, fruity sensation makes it both smooth and flavorful. It also has ripe tannins. It can be kept for some time, but don't hesitate to drink it as soon as it is released. This one may not be available on the market until 2020.
