Domaine de la Bégude
TheDomaine de la Bégude is a 500-hectare estate in the heart of a wilderness of garrigue and unspoilt forest. It stretches across the territory of La Cadière d'Azur, a village near Le Castellet in Provence. In September 2022, the estate, owned by the Tari family since 1996, was acquired by Christian Roulleau, who since 2019 has owned the Margaux grand cru classé Château Dauzac and 51% of the Bordeaux trading company Maison Montagnac.

The vineyards of Domaine de la Bégude are unique, occupying 30 hectares of the estate, which also includes a large olive grove. It is planted with seven different white and black grape varieties and overlooks the sea. The vineyard produces red, rosé and white wines, belonging to the Bandol AOC, one of the oldest wine appellations in France. The vines are located 410 meters above sea level, on the highest point of the Bandol appellation.

The vines are cultivated using ECOCERT-certified organic methods, and harvested by hand. Red wines are produced from a large majority of Mourvèdre grapes and aged in barrels, while rosé wines are made from pressed and bled grapes. As for the white wines, made mainly from Clairette, with a touch of Ugni Blanc and Rolle, they constitute only a micro-production.
