Bégude Estate
TheDomaine de la Bégude is a 500-hectare estate nestled in the heart of unspoiled wilderness, comprising scrubland and preserved forests. It is located in La Cadière d’Azur, a village near Le Castellet in Provence. In September 2022, the estate—run by the Tari family since 1996—was acquired by Christian Roulleau, who has owned the Margaux Grand Cru Classé Château Dauzac since 2019, as well as a 51% stake in the Bordeaux wine merchant Maison Montagnac.

The vineyard of Domaine de la Bégudeis a unique site, covering 30 hectares of the property, which also includes a large olive grove. It is planted with seven different white and red grape varieties and overlooks the sea. This vineyard produces red, rosé, and white wines under the Bandol AOC, one of France’s oldest wine appellations. The vines are located 410 meters above sea level, at the highest point of the Bandol appellation.

The vineyard is cultivated using ECOCERT-certified organic farming methods, and the harvest is conducted by hand. The red wines are made almost exclusively from Mourvèdre and aged in barrels; the rosé wines are produced through pressing and saignée. As for the white wines, made primarily from Clairette with a touch of Ugni Blanc and Rolle, they represent only a very small-scale production.
