James Suckling

(2016 Vintage Notes)

With its delicate pale pink color, Les Clans is the “little sister” cuvée of the prestigious Garrus. The wine is light and approachable even when young. It offers pleasant, elegant fruit notes of red berries, gentle spices, and a lively acidity that delivers the freshness you’d expect. Orders of 3 bottles of this wine will be shipped in a wooden crate (excluding “Pickup Point” delivery).

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2018 guide): 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)

About the estate:

Since 2006, this estate has been owned by Sacha Lichine, the former owner of Château Prieuré-Lichine in Margaux. He has taken a hands-on approach to winemaking, working with Patrick Léon (formerly of Mouton-Rothschild) to produce wines of great precision. Their Garrus cuvée is likely the most expensive Provence rosé on the market.

Rated estate (2018 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the estate:

A renowned match manufacturer in Marseille during the 1850s, Joseph Toussaint Caussemille was one of the many owners of Château d’Esclans and gave his name to this estate, which is centered around a 19th-century building inspired by Tuscan villas and built on the ruins of a medieval castle. Sacha Lichine, son of the late Alexis Lichine, former owner of Château Prieuré-Lichine, took over this 267-hectare estate (including 44 hectares of vineyards) in 2006; it is renowned for its oak-aged rosés.
