Château Miraval
Owned by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt since 2008, the Miraval vineyard covers 30 hectares in the Côtes de Provence AOC, Coteaux Varois AOC, and Vin de France (for reds only).
The Perrin family, owners of the renowned Château Beaucastel in Châteauneuf du Pape, have been responsible for the vineyard and wine production at Château de Miraval since 2011.
Although the estate confirms that its vineyards are cultivated organically, the wines have not been certified organic since the 2012 vintage because some of the grapes may come from merchants who are not always certified.
Château de Miraval produces a range of four wines: a Côtes de Provence rosé, a Côtes de Provence white, a Coteaux Varois white, and a Vin de France red.
Once vinified, the wines are bottled by the Perrin family, who have high-quality equipment to ensure an optimal amount of dissolved oxygen during the process.
Château de Miraval rosé, a true ode to art
A 12th-century bastide located in Provence, the Château de Miraval covers approximately 1,000 hectares. This setting, consisting of vineyards and olive trees, has a way of transporting you. It was ranked among Wine Spectator magazine's top 100 wines of the year. This was a crowning achievement, recognizing the quintessence of Miraval wine and rewarding the efforts made. How did the owners achieve such a high level of perfection in such a short time?Soil knowledge at the service of unparalleled expertise
The Perrin family, who initially worked on land in the Vaucluse region, put all their expertise into producing Miraval wine. The cultivated soils are clay-limestone. They chose a partially exposed location for the Miraval Côtes de Provence vineyards. The altitude there is 350 meters. In fact, the cool climate and significant temperature variations between day and night give the wine its harmony. The elegance of subtle red fruit notes is prolonged by other more lemony, salty, and mineral notes. This brings us back to the soul of this place. When the culture of must rhymes with rhapsodies of taste
