"A splendid vintage, just like its terroir!"
"The 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc is an exceptional wine, characterized by a bright golden color and an irresistible nose of honeyed stone fruits, toasted almonds, floral oil, and caramelized orange. It is medium-bodied to full-bodied, concentrated, with a supple and harmonious palate, and the fresh and elegant style of the vintage." (Jeb Dunnuck 2024)

Rated estate (2020 guide) 5 stars (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)
About the estate:
Since 1909, Beaucastel has been owned by the Perrin family, now under the management of Jean-Pierre and François, the sons of Jacques Perrin, accompanied by Cécile, Marc, Pierre, Thomas, Charles, Mathieu, and César, the fifth generation. In other words, it's a family affair! Located on 100 hectares of rounded pebbles, including 30 hectares in Côtes du Rhône (Coudoulet de Beaucastel), Château Beaucastel produces four wines. In white, a classic cuvée dominated by Roussanne, and the famous Roussanne-Vieilles-Vignes cuvée. In red, Mourvèdre plays a major role, accounting for nearly a third of the plantings, as much as Grenache. This unusual proportion was strategic in 2018 and allowed Beaucastel to achieve its characteristic finesse and freshness. This is undoubtedly one of the finest wine estates in France, with, in our opinion, an added purity in recent years.

About wine:
A rich and mature vintage, with a hint of honeyed hazelnut from the oak. It is a generous style, round and very deep in fruit. The alcohol seems a little higher than a typical vintage (even though it is only 14%), but it has concentration and depth. Slight grapefruit bitterness on the finish. Harvested fairly early this year. Roussanne aged entirely in new and one-year-old barrels.

About wine:
The 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc from Château de Beaucastel reveals aromas of ripe pear, white flowers, herbs, spices, and notes of fresh thyme. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, round and lively, it is enveloping and generous, with a harmonious texture, a gastronomic bitterness and a long, salty and fresh finish. Very harmonious, this is a deep and fleshy Châteauneuf-du-Pape, composed of 80% Roussanne and 20% Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, Picardan, and Piquepoul.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About wine:
This wine is wonderfully fresh. The 80% Roussanne is well integrated, both on the nose and on the palate. Yellow fruits dominate, but hints of aniseed and wisteria add a certain sparkle. The palate is full-bodied, but without any softness. The wine is flavorful, with a lovely finish.
About the estate:
With its unique terroir of rounded pebbles, Château de Beaucastel is one of the emblems of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This estate can boast of being one of the few to use all thirteen authorized grape varieties to produce its red wine. The wine is consistently of a very high standard, but faces competition from other vintages that have shaken up the appellation's hierarchy. Of course, the extremely rare and remarkable Hommage à Jacques Perrin vintage, made predominantly from Mourvèdre and produced only in great years, remains a benchmark, as does the sumptuous Roussanne Vieilles Vignes white, which reveals itself over time. Under the efficient management of the Perrin family, Château de Beaucastel remains a benchmark for wines from the south of France, a status it now shares with other estates that have reached or even surpassed its level.

About wine:
Nose with notes of mandarin and apple peel. A real richness, a density that coats the mouth, a salinity and a sensation of freshness—a true minerality reveals itself on the finish to refresh the rich heart. The alcohol is balanced and the finish is long and pleasant. Dense and powerful, but always refreshing.

About wine:
A textured, dense, silky, and harmonious white blend of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Picardan, Bourboulenc, and Clairette. The nose reveals aromas of cooked lemon, verbena, beeswax, wild herbs, and dried spices. Medium-bodied with moderate acidity. Notes of baked lemon and herbs bring a lively and energetic mid-palate. It is smooth and very textured. Vibrant and long on the palate. Drink now or keep.
