Château Maucoil

Château Maucoil was taken over in September 2022 by Bernard Duseigneur, who also owns Domaine Duseigneur, which has been practicing biodynamic viticulture for over 20 years. A new chapter is beginning at Château Maucoil with a biodynamic approach that respects nature and the environment. The estate is currently developing wine tourism with various tasting workshops (introductory sessions, blending, etc.) and food-and-wine pairings. 

Three distinct terroirs make up the Château Maucoil vineyard: a subsoil of red clay; limestone with clay subsoils to the west; and, finally, sandy hillsides to the east nestled between wooded areas and stony plateaus. The 13 traditional grape varieties of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation are still grown here: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Picpoul, Roussanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Muscardin, Picardan, Counoise, Cinsault, Terret Noir, and Vaccarèse.
