Over the centuries, Château Maucoil has been home to several generations of winemaking families. Located in the Vaucluse region, the estate spans 25 hectares of vineyards in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation and 18 hectares in the Côtes du Rhône appellation, across the municipalities of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Orange, and Sorgues.

Château Maucoil was taken over in September 2022 by Bernard Duseigneur, who also owns Domaine Duseigneur, which has been practicing biodynamics for over 20 years. A new chapter is beginning at Château Maucoil with a biodynamic approach that respects nature and the environment. The estate is currently developing wine tourism with various tasting workshops (introductory, blending, etc.) and food and wine pairings.

Three distinct terroirs make up the Château Maucoil vineyard: a subsoil of red clay, limestone rock with clay subsoils to the west, and finally sandy slopes to the east between wooded areas and stony plateaus. The 13 traditional grape varieties of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation are still grown here: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Picpoul, Roussanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Muscardin, Picardan, Counoise, Cinsault, Terret Noir, and Vaccarèse.
