About the estate:
Mont-Redon is a very large estate comprising about 100 hectares of vineyards in Châteauneuf (out of a total of 150 planted hectares), occupying a significant portion of the plateau of rounded pebbles that bears the estate’s name, as well as a section planted across from the estate. Alongside the estate’s long-standing flagship red Châteauneuf, a superb single-vineyard selection, Le Plateau, has emerged. While it may not be among the appellation’s most spectacular wines, this cru ages exceptionally well and exudes a quiet, full-bodied character. The family also produces high-quality whites, numerous Côtes-du-Rhône wines, and owns an estate in Lirac.

About the wine:
The blend consists of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, and the result is a first-rate wine, displaying explosive aromas of cherries, cocoa, and cake spices. Generous, silky, rich, and long-finishing, it is underpinned by the structural elements of oak, without being overpowered by the wood at all.

Dense, with the intense notes of ripe black fruits characteristic of this vintage, while notes of plum, blackberry, blueberry, and fig unfold, supported by a deeply rooted graphite base. Warm notes of ganache, burnt tobacco, Turkish coffee, and toasted alder are present in the background. Offers a long, rich finish. Very well structured. Best enjoyed from 2022 to 2040.

About the wine:
Very fragrant aromas of raspberry and cherry jam, candied flowers, mocha, and incense, enlivened by a smoky, mineral touch. Seductively smooth yet crisp, it offers vibrant, dense notes of red fruit jam, flavors of cherry cola, candied lavender, and spiced cake that deepens steadily with aeration. It displays superb nuances and a mineral backbone on a surprisingly long and consistent finish, with polished tannins and lingering flavors of five-spice powder and floral notes. This is the first vintage of this bottling, and the grapes come from the estate’s oldest vines, planted in 1923.
