"A sumptuous vintage with inimitable aromas!
"Intoxicating flavors and aromas of lemon blossom, jasmine, honeysuckle, ripe peach, and apricot juice. There is a certain creaminess, but it is balanced by a fairly refreshing acidity. This wine is very well-balanced for a Condrieu and could be kept longer than I had estimated." (Jancis Robinson 2025)

Bettane & Desseauve
5-star rated estates (Outstanding producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)
About the domain :
Emma Amsellem has joined her mother Christine Vernay to develop the rugged hillsides of Condrieu and Côte Rôtie, lands drenched in sunshine when frost doesn't interfere, as in 2021, a vintage Emma is not about to forget since she had just returned to the domaine. Beyond the vagaries of the weather, the year was a great success for the whites, with saline expressions well in place. A vintage in which we find all the splendor of the Vernon hillside.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 93/100
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 3*Stars (They represent the excellence of the French vineyard. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wines is always a magical experience)
About the domain :
Christine Vernay, who brilliantly took over the reins of this emblematic Condrieu estate in 1996, is slowly handing over to her daughter, Emma Amsellem. While the estate is intimately linked to the history of the Condrieu appellation, of which it is still the most brilliant representative, it also offers a remarkable selection of reds whose maturation has been refined in recent years. Tasting a decade-old Condrieu cuvée here reveals the potential of this terroir, too often overwhelmed by the varietal notes of Viognier. The energy and potential contained in the estate's wines set a benchmark.

About the wine:
Fresh aromas of apricot, mango, spring flowers, banana, and a hint of jasmine introduce the Condrieu Les Terrasses de L'Empire 2023, a medium-bodied Condrieu with captivating elegance. Touching the palate with a gentle aromatic concentration, the 2023 ends with a slice of juicy apricot on a sapid finish.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 94/100
About the wine:
The Condrieu Les Terrasses De L'Empire 2023 is magnificent, with mineral aromas and flavors of grilled peach, musky orange, and flowers. These linger in a medium-bodied to full-bodied Condrieu that is beautifully balanced, with a complex palate and exceptional length. Drink within the next 7 to 8 years.
