Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss - KA 2012 (vieilles vignes)

Gault & Millau
A fabulous expression of Carignan, the 2012 Costières de Nîmes KA offers classic notes of old leather, pepper, wild herbs, and an assortment of purple fruits. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, with excellent concentration and remarkable purity, it should be drunk over the next 4 to 6 years, although I wouldn't be surprised to see it last much longer." Bettane & Desseauve
Winery rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, consistent with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
Since 1999, at the Domaine des Perrières, Marc Kreydenweiss and his wife Emmanuelle have been happily combining their Alsatian expertise with their passion for southern French grape varieties, particularly reds, all produced using biodynamic methods. The result is magnificent wines that are completely out of the ordinary, with the Ansata cuvée being a perfect example.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rated 16.5/20 (Very good)
About wine:
We love the flawless density of its sustained, vibrant flavors, bursting with black grape juice, rockrose, licorice, and notes of bitter cocoa. The firm, chiseled structure is enlivened by the diverse grain that accompanies it fresh on the finish. Noble!
