“Fruit, mocha, and peppercorns!”

A fine example of a red Costières de Nîmes! Fresh dark fruit, plum, and pepper, with distinct "garrigue" notes. The palate is lively, with plenty of fruit and structure! The finish is pleasant, with hints of chocolate.

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Winery rated 1 star (A high-quality, recommended wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

In 2004, Pascal Glas decided to take over the family vineyards after having made wine for more than twenty years in cooperative wineries in the south of France. Located on the northwestern edge of the Costières de Nîmes appellation, he crafts straightforward, honest wines with exemplary balance and purity of fruit. The wines are refreshing with beautiful depth of fruit, without ever being overpowering.

Powerful, with fresh peppery notes, black fruit, and subtle hints of blackcurrant and plum running through this nectar. I really like it. And best of all, it’s exactly what I was hoping for—a wine that’s very typical of the Costières de Nîmes region.
