Domaine de Poulvarel - Costières de Nîmes Les Perrottes 2023
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"A real treat!
"At work here are 60-year-old vines and grapes half fermented by carbonic maceration. After 12 months between barrel and vat, it presents a nose of vanilla and cocoa that envelops the black fruit. The palate is full-bodied yet fresh, underpinned by perfectly extracted velvety tannins and a noble woodiness with bittersweet flavors of dark chocolate and paprika. Definitely a wine for laying down". (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

Domaine rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
In 2004, Pascal Glas decided to take over the family vineyards after more than twenty years of winemaking in cooperative wineries in the south of France. Situated on the north-western edge of the Costières de Nîmes appellation, he makes straightforward, honest wines with exemplary balance and purity of fruit. The wines are thirst-quenching, with great depth of fruit, without ever being overdone.
