"The 2013 Côte-Rôtie La Germine displays the estate's elegant, fresh, and light style. Raspberries, flowers, cherries, and a hint of mint intermingle beautifully. There is medium-bodied depth and richness, well-integrated acidity, and fine tannins. It is already drinking very well but will evolve gracefully over the next decade. Wine rated (2016 guide) 16,5/20 (Reference wine)
Rated estate (2018 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About wine:
Lots of fruit, very appealing texture, purer and more open than Maison Rouge.
About the estate:
This traditional estate owes much to the discipline and tenacity of the two Duclaux brothers, who practice impeccable viticulture on the best hillsides in the southern part of the appellation. The two Côte-Rôtie wines produced here are refined and stylish, bearing the distinctive mark of the granite terroirs in the southern part of the appellation.

Wine noted (guide 2016) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Rated estate (2018 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)
About wine:
After twenty months of aging in oak, this cuvée made from Syrah and 5% Viognier delivers a subtle and distinctive bouquet of pepper, black fruits, and violet. The palate is very balanced, revealing itself to be refined, full-bodied, and long, before showing a little more muscle in a finish that leaves an impression of power. A wine that is very much in keeping with the appellation, built for excellent aging.
About the estate:
On their 6-hectare estate, founded by their great-grandfather in 1928, the Duclaux brothers devote themselves exclusively to the Côte-Rôtie appellation (two vintages, La Germine and Maison Rouge) and have no desire to produce wines from other AOCs. Their vineyard, located in the south of the appellation on gneiss soil, covers the steep slopes of Tupin-et-Semons.

Wine rated (2016 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2018 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About wine:
Very beautiful, taut texture. It is fresh and lively, but without harshness. The wine has a beautiful structure and slightly tart fruit. Grapes from the south-southeast facing Tupin hillside give this wine a lovely, vibrant fruitiness.
About the estate:
The Duclaux estate is an old estate, established in 1928. David and Benjamin have continued to develop it over the years. They produced their first Condrieu in 2014, named Les Caillets, in tribute to their great-grandfather Frédéric Caillet, founder of the estate. The La Chana cuvée reveals a fruity style with good extraction. We love the estate's wines, which reflect the elegance and finesse of the gneiss soils in the southern part of the Côte Rôtie appellation. The perfect mastery of the aging process is also noteworthy: the wood is always well integrated.
Gilbert & Gaillard
Wine rated (2015 guide) 91/100
About wine:
Young ruby color. The initial nose is still somewhat reserved, opening up to floral notes, wild berries, and minerality. Delicate and elegant on the palate. The aromas will only blossom at their own pace, and the wine will gain in complexity. A bet on the future.
