1*Étoile
Hachette
With a purplish hue, Les Merrelies offers notes of black fruit and sweet spices. The tannins are supple and the palate is round. The fruitiness of the nose carries through to a long, silky finish. A truly beautiful wine from a challenging vintage.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2016 guide): 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)
About the estate:
In the Haut-Vaucluse region, nestled against the Dentelles de Séguret, the Domaine de l’Amauve is a distinguished representative of the appellation, led by the inspiring Christian Voeux. Deeply committed to sustainable viticultural practices, Voeux draws on the experience he gained at Château Mont Redon and also produces wine at Château La Nerthe in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. He sensitively brings out the character of the old vines growing on the estate’s 20 hectares of sandy and stony soil.

A light-bodied Côtes du Rhône that lacks a bit of body, but offers decent value for the price
