Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2019 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

Christèle Plantevin loves cooking and wine. She initially pursued a different career path before returning to Cairanne to take over this family estate, founded in 1902, where the garrigue terroir (red clay subsoil and pebbles on the surface) lends power and complexity to her wines. By limiting yields, she preserves the richness and distinctive character of both her reds and whites.

It lacks a bit of aroma, but the price makes up for it with this Viognier.

Lack of balance: there is too much alcohol, which masks the flavors.
