"The exuberance of Roussanne, tempered by the minerality of Marsanne"

This lovely white Crozes-Hermitage, made from 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne, is perfectly balanced. The nose is straightforward and exuberant, with notes of flowers and white-fleshed fruits. On the palate, it is rich and mineral, making it the ideal pairing for blanquette, sea bream, and shellfish.

Rated estate (2024 guide): 3*Stars (High-quality production that serves as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

One of the most consistent estates in the Crozes appellation for over thirty years, where the vines and apricot trees are cultivated with equal passion. Julien and David have joined their father, Laurent. They cultivate 50 hectares of vineyards, mostly located on the rounded pebbles of the Plaine des Châssis, as well as a few granite-rich areas in the northern part of the appellation and a small portion in Saint-Joseph. The Clos-des-Grives, produced from nine hectares of lovingly tended vines, has consistently excelled over time in both red and white wines.

Rated Estate (2024 Guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

A charming man, Laurent Combier has succeeded in bringing out the greatness of the fine terroirs of Crozes-Hermitage, on the clay-limestone plateau with rounded pebbles of Pont-d’Isère. Vintage after vintage, he has continually refined his wines in terms of finesse and definition, to the point where they can stand proudly alongside wines from far more prestigious terroirs. His Clos des Grives ranks among the most alluring and complex Syrahs of the Rhône. Its aging potential is remarkable in great vintages. Laurent now works alongside his sons, Julien and David.
