Domaine Marion Chirouze - Crozes-Hermitage L'Audacieuse 2022
3*Étoile
Hachette
"All the boldness of a Crozes"
"In the southern part of the appellation, on stony alluvial soils mixed with red clay, beautiful Syrah grapes of venerable age (60 years) flourish, harvested by hand in early September and partially destemmed (70%). Well served by the vintage, without seeking over-ripeness, this red offers everything you would expect from a good, spontaneously pleasant Crozes: a clean, vibrant nose, with notes of lilac and crisp blackcurrant, and a supple, sappy palate, barely oaky, held together by mellow tannins, with a slight hint of bitterness that does not detract from its remarkable harmony. About the estate:
In La Roche-de-Glun, in the Drôme region, a 23-hectare vineyard and orchard founded in 1950 by Raoul Chirouze. In 2021, his granddaughter Marion took over from her parents, converted the 15 hectares of vines to organic farming, and began producing wine on the estate.
