"All the boldness of a Crozes"

“In the southern part of the vineyard, on stony alluvial soils mixed with red clay, beautiful Syrah vines of venerable age (60 years) thrive; they were hand-harvested in early September and partially destemmed (70%). Well-suited to the vintage, without any attempt at over-ripening, this red offers everything one could expect from a good, naturally pleasing Crozes: a clean, vibrant nose dominated by lilac and crisp blackcurrant, and a supple, sap-filled palate, barely oaked, supported by velvety tannins, with a slight hint of bitterness that in no way detracts from its remarkable harmony. ” (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

A charming wine that reveals aromas of dark fruits, such as blackberries, accompanied by toasty, smoky, and light tobacco notes.

About the wine:

Well-suited to the vintage, without any attempt at over-ripening, this red offers everything one could expect from a good, naturally pleasing Crozes: a clean, vibrant nose dominated by lilac and crisp blackcurrant, and a supple, sap-filled palate, barely oaked, supported by well-integrated tannins, with a slight hint of bitterness that in no way detracts from its remarkable harmony. A grand entrance into the Guide.

About the estate:

In La Roche-de-Glun, in the Drôme region, a 23-hectare vineyard and orchard was founded in 1950 by Raoul Chirouze. In 2021, his granddaughter Marion took over from her parents, converted the 15 hectares of vineyards to organic farming, and began producing wine on the estate. Production is exclusively dedicated to the Crozes-Hermitage appellation.
