La Réserve Saint Dominique - Gigondas 2024

La Réserve Saint Dominique - Gigondas 2024

2*Étoiles

Hachette

“No need for aging in the forest to bring out this energetic Gigondas, which immediately captivates with its complex bouquet blending black berries, camphor-like notes, and spices (cloves), and which also impresses with its smooth palate, featuring generous fruit and powdery tannins that suggest it could benefit from a little more aging. Powerful, expressive, and refined, this wine does justice to the appellation. ” (Le Guide Hachette 2027)

About the wine:

There’s no need for aging in oak to bring out the best in this energetic Gigondas, which immediately captivates with its complex bouquet blending black berries, camphor, and spicy notes (clove), and also impresses with its smooth palate, featuring generous fruit and velvety tannins that suggest it could benefit from a little more aging. Powerful, expressive, and refined, this wine does justice to its appellation.

About the estate:

Founded in 1979 by Gérard and Marie-Claude Bonnet, this estate—located in Courthézon on the site of a former 16th-century chapel—spans 45 hectares across the Côtes-du-Rhône, Cairanne, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellations. Since 1999, the wines have been produced by Éric, their son, who complements the estate with a wine trading business. He was joined by his sister Véronique in 2016. Founded in 2005, Réserve Saint-Dominique is Éric Bonnet’s wine trading business, operating out of La Bastide Saint-Dominique, located in Courthézon and a trusted name in the southern valley for its Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cairanne, Côtes-du-Rhône, and village wines.
