Robert Parker

“Even better than the 2015, the 2016 Gigondas Les Dessous des Dentelles is a real success. With aromas reminiscent of a flowering garrigue, it develops notes of red fruit on a full-bodied palate. It is supple, not overly rich, but fresh and peppery, with a tantalizing finish underscored by silky tannins.” (Wine Advocate 2018 - Joe Czerwinski) Treat yourself to this organic Gigondas!

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2020 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the estate:

The indoor chapel and pergola of this Tuscan-style country house serve as a reminder that, in the 16th century, the estate belonged to an Italian prelate. In 2009, Jean-Pierre Valade, an international wine consultant, and Éric Petitjean took over the estate and its 33 hectares of organically farmed vineyards (Beaumes-de-Venise, Ventoux, and Gigondas).

About the wine:

Even better than the 2015 vintage, the 2016 Gigondas Les Dessous des Dentelles is a real success. With aromas reminiscent of a flowering garrigue, it develops notes of red fruit on the palate. It is supple, not overly rich, but fresh and peppery, with a tantalizing finish underscored by silky tannins. It should age well for a decade.

Excellent, with a lovely aroma and good length, and plenty of fruit. As of May 2022, the wine has continued to age very well and has reached a very high level of quality.
