Bettane & Desseauve

(2013 Vintage Notes)

This intense and complex white wine is the result of a lovely combination of juicy apricot, peach, white flowers, and hints of toast and vanilla, with a hint of fresh butter. On the palate, notes of candied lemon, acacia flowers, and the minerality characteristic of the terroir lend the wine body and length, leading to a delicately oaky finish with lovely freshness.

Wine rated (2015 guide) 14/20 (2013 vintage) (Good wine)

Rated estate (2018 guide): 2*Stars (A solid and recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)

About the estate:

The estate offers a wide range of wines, all of high quality, that emphasize elegance and aromatic precision over power. The 2014, 2015, and 2016 vintages are yet more successes for the estate, across all three wine types.

Gault & Millau Wine Guide

Guide des Vins Gault & Millau

Rated 2** stars (Successful production)

About the estate:

In 1989, Yves Rousset-Rouard purchased an old farmhouse and its 8 hectares of vineyards with the goal of producing a great terroir-driven wine and introducing the world to the Côtes du Luberon appellation—now known simply as “Luberon.” Twenty years later, through hard work and a highly selective choice of plots, that goal appears to have been achieved. His son Alexis has also been assisting him on the estate since 1995. Located on the northern slope of the Luberon massif, the approximately 40 hectares under production comprise more than 65 parcels, all planted with 14 different grape varieties, though Syrah and Grenache form the foundation. Within the estate grounds is the Corkscrew Museum, which houses 1,200 pieces dating from the 17th century to the present day.
