The estate produces highly expressive wines from the finest vineyards in the Vaucluse and Gard regions. Madeleine Delorme, alongside her daughter Ambre, continues to work with great care and determination, upholding the spirit of excellence that defines both the estate and this winemaking family. Aroma of white flowers and candied citrus peel. Full-bodied, fresh, and generous on the palate, with good acidity that provides solid structure—fairly lively acids that give this wine a well-balanced character.

Founded in 1986 by Francis Delorme and his son Christophe, the 58-hectare estate (certified organic and biodynamic) is spread across 38 plots and eight municipalities. Following Christophe’s untimely death in 2015, his wife Madeleine and their daughter Ambre took over the reins of the estate. Advocates of low yields, the Delormes produce their vintages with disconcerting ease, whether in Tavel—their original stronghold—Lirac, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, or “simple” Côtes-du-Rhône. A must-try.

The 2024 Lirac Blanc La Reine des Bois is more taut than usual, exuding aromas of spring flowers, white lilac, almonds, and honeysuckle. Medium- to full-bodied, silky, and complex, it is elegant and briny, with an enveloping fruit-forward core and a long, chalky finish. Grown on vines planted on rounded pebbles and limestone soils, it is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Viognier, and Clairette, with a touch of Marsanne and Roussanne.

A hint of Golden Delicious apple on the nose—along with damp hay and chamomile. Attractive fruitiness and moderate acidity. A truly pleasant vibrancy, a bit reserved and tight for now, but it will open up beautifully.
