"A real treat!"

Bold yet elegant on the nose, this wine offers a surprising bouquet of violet, lavender, and black licorice, all perfectly integrated into a sophisticated aromatic profile. The palate is more rustic, with notes of dried herbs, rose petals, and undergrowth layered over a firmly earthy finish. Dry tannins add structure and grip, centering a core of fresh black fruit. This wine combines charm and character: it is already accessible after decanting, but will be worth following over the next few years." (Wine Enthusiast 2025)

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 02/01/2026

Robust and slightly rustic, this mature Rasteau is deep and moderately concentrated with sustained acidity tempering its vigor and highlighting its aromatic intensity of ripe fruit, spices, and balsamic notes. The enveloping, creamy tannins bring length to the warm finish. Character and brilliance for a Sisteron lamb shoulder with herbs on a spit. Rating = 3.9.
