Domaine Pierre Gaillard

Pierre Gaillard is an iconic winemaker in the Rhône Valley. With a degree in viticulture and oenology, he purchased Clos de Cuminaille in Malleval in 1981. In 2002, he created the Madeloc estate in Banyuls-sur-Mer, and in 2007, the Cottebrune estate in Faugères. Today, Pierre Gaillard manages 77 hectares of vineyards across all his estates.

The vineyards are spread across the northern Rhône Valley, from Côte-Rôtie in the north to Cornas in the south. They are located on steep slopes in the foothills of the Massif Central.

Pierre Gaillard follows his inspiration while respecting the "raw material": the grape. In Malleval, Madeloc, and Cottebrune, he seeks optimal conditions for hygiene and temperature control, between manual harvesting, plot-by-plot vinification, and grape variety by grape variety. Pierre Gaillard's wines express clean and precise fruit aromas, often with deep colors and tannins that are present without being rough.
