"Pure fruit"

“A grander, richer wine, the 2019 Vacqueyras Ora boasts a deeper purple color and an exceptional nose of blackberry and ripe red currant intertwined with abundant garrigue, toasted spices, cured meats, and peppery notes. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, it has a rich and opulent mid-palate, with plenty of Provençal charm, and will be impressive right from the start.” (Jeb Dunnuck 2020)

Review and comment by Mr. GILLES D. Published on November 20, 2021

This Vacqueyras is characterized by its smoothness and delicate texture. The palate is very fruity and velvety, with subtle notes of vanilla, leather, and spices in the background. It has a nice finish with well-balanced acidity and a hint of pepper. Rated 3.7 with average value for money, as competition is fierce in this €15–17 price range (Xavier Vignon, Sang des Cailloux, Duvernay, Perrin...). Served at 18° after 2 hours of aeration with chili con carne, which complemented the spicy and meaty notes of this cuvée.
