“A vibrant, unpretentious pure Grenache, born from a hand-harvest and 12 months of aging in tanks. The brilliant color with bluish highlights heralds the richness of the bouquet, which is crisp and intense: blackcurrant jelly, cloves, and smoky notes. Freshness immediately carves its path through an enveloping, velvety palate, supported by finely sculpted tannins and a pulpy fruitiness that takes on a lingering note of dark chocolate on the finish. Voluptuous, it can be enjoyed now or cellared for a few years.” (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

About the wine:
A vibrant, unpretentious pure Grenache, crafted from hand-harvested grapes and aged for 12 months in tanks. The brilliant color with bluish highlights hints at the richness of the clean, intense bouquet: blackcurrant jelly, cloves, and smoky notes. Freshness immediately carves its path through an enveloping, velvety palate, supported by finely sculpted tannins and a luscious fruitiness that takes on a lingering note of dark chocolate on the finish. Voluptuous, it can be enjoyed now or cellared for a few years.
About the estate:
Founded in 1979 by Gérard and Marie-Claude Bonnet, this estate—located in Courthézon on the site of a former 16th-century chapel—spans 45 hectares across the Côtes-du-Rhône, Cairanne, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellations. Since 1999, the wines have been produced by Éric, their son, who has expanded the estate with a wine trading business. He was joined by his sister Véronique in 2016. Founded in 2005, Réserve Saint-Dominique is Éric Bonnet’s wine trading business, based at La Bastide Saint-Dominique, located in Courthézon and a trusted name in the southern valley for its Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cairanne, Côtes-du-Rhône, and village wines.

Review and comment by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 11/21/2025
Discover this full-bodied, warm, and characterful wine that doesn’t forget to be smooth and velvety, with plenty of body and flavors of pulpy, spicy red and black fruits on a subtle menthol-like backdrop that enhances the powerful, lingering finish with a hint of cocoa. Maximum enjoyment without breaking the bank—pair it with spicy, distinctive dishes like pulled smoked pork with barbecue sauce or lamb moussaka with Parmesan. Rating: 4.2.
