"A lovely balance for this little bomb of freshness".

"A vibrant, unpretentious Grenache, hand-harvested and aged in vats for 12 months. The brilliant bluish hue announces the richness of the bouquet, clean and intense: blackcurrant jelly, cloves and smoky notes. Freshness is immediately apparent on the enveloping, unctuous palate, supported by finely sculpted tannins and luscious fruitiness, tinged with a languorous note of dark chocolate on the finish. Voluptuous, it can be opened today or cellared for several years". (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

About the domain :

Founded in 1979 by Gérard and Marie-Claude Bonnet, this estate in Courthézon, on the remains of an ancient 16th-century chapel, covers 45 hectares in the Côtes-du-Rhône, Cairanne and Châteauneuf-du-Pape regions. Since 1999, the wines have been vinified by their son Éric, who completes the estate with a trading structure. He was joined by his sister Véronique in 2016. Created in 2005, La Réserve Saint-Dominique is the trading activity of Éric Bonnet of dom. la Bastide Saint-Dominique, located in Courthézon and a sure bet in the southern valley for its Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cairanne, Côtes-du-Rhône and villages.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 21/11/2025

Discover this full-bodied, warm cuvée of character that's also smooth and unctuous, with plenty of substance and flavors of pulpy, spicy red and black fruits on a fine minty frame that boosts the powerful, persistent, slightly cocoa-flavored finish. Maximum pleasure without breaking the bank with spicy, typical cuisine, such as smoked pork pulled with bbq-sauce barbecue, or lamb moussaka with parmesan. Rating = 4.2.
