Ventoux
The Ventoux appellation was granted AOC status in 1973, cementing several centuries of heritage and tradition in vine cultivation. In 2008, the current appellation replaced that of Côtes-du-Ventoux, without significantly altering its nature. The geographical area of the appellation extends mainly south of Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail, passing through the Monts du Vaucluse and as far as Cavalon.
Located on a site classified as a "Biosphere Reserve" by UNESCO in 1990, the terroir benefits from this richness.

The soil of the Ventoux appellation consists of limestone deposits, a mixture of sand and ochre clay, and limestone nodules and scree from the mountain. Combined with the Mediterranean climate and micro-influences linked to the variation of valleys, mountains, and plains, the terroir of Mont Ventoux offers a variety of nuances in its wines.

Mostly red in color, although rosés and, more rarely, white wines are also available for sale, Ventoux wines are mainly made from Grenache Noir, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and Carignan grape varieties. Ventoux reds are mainly characterized by their smoothness and rich aromas. The wines offered by estates such as Xavier Vins, Château Unang, Domaine de la Brunely, and Caves de Terra Ventoux explain the growing reputation of the Ventoux appellation.
