“Rimage” is the translation of “vintage” and the term used by the people of Banyuls to refer to the “wine of the year.” Black Grenache, long maceration, aging on lees, a few months in barrel, and here it is: deep black, very open with red fruit, featuring the toasty note from barrel aging and the softer, delicately milky note from regular stirring on the lees. The palate is rich, smooth, and full-bodied, with remarkably refined tannins; cherry and blackcurrant notes meet a savory, spicy undertone. A marvel paired with dark chocolate or sweet-and-salty dishes.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2018)

Tasted in February 2020 as part of a blue cheese platter. Deep, brilliant color. Aroma of overripe black fruit. Long, balanced finish. Magnificent.
