About the wine:

Aged for over twenty years in oak, this amber-colored sherry has taken on a mature hue, displaying golden-brown and coffee-colored highlights—a far cry from its original white color. On the nose, as one panelist put it, “it’s definitely rancio”! Indeed, notes of walnut and dried fruit are immediately apparent upon first inhalation. Less marked by the rancio, the palate evokes cocoa, complemented by a soft toasty note. The body is very respectable, and the finish, with its dried fruit notes, is quite pleasant.

About the estate:

Acquired in 1992 by the Bertrand family, this 50-hectare estate, nestled against the hills of Castelnou, proudly features superb, well-restored 13th-century buildings. The vineyard has been certified organic since 2013.
