2*Coup de Coeur

Hachette

"An intense, brilliant, and clear garnet color: the presentation of this 2013 is flawless. The wine is equally seductive on the nose with its elegant aromas of red and black fruits with sweet hints of spice, vanilla, and oak. Powerful on the attack, fleshy and open with jammy blackberry notes, the wine unfolds with mellow tannins, then encounters a welcome freshness in a delicate vanilla finish." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2016)

About wine:

An intense, brilliant, and clear garnet color: the presentation of this 2013 vintage is flawless. The wine is equally seductive on the nose with its elegant aromas of red and black fruits with sweet hints of spice, vanilla, and oak. A supple wine with hints of pepper and little length. Fair value for money, but nothing more; in any case, it's a far cry from the 3 stars given to it by Hachette.

Very disappointing! The Hachette "experts" didn't taste the same thing I did! Impossible to detect any hint of spice, vanilla, or oak... this wine has very little flavor. It tastes like a Loire wine made from grapes that never saw the sun. I don't understand the difference between this and the description given. Judging by the other comments, I'm not the only one who feels this way... Very disappointed.

Review and opinion by Mr. FLORENT B. Published on 03/09/2016

I agree with Philippe, the description has nothing to do with the wine tasted: none of the aromas described are present, except for freshness, not to say greenness or even acidity. It's almost fraudulent. I'm not going to reconcile myself with Buzet just yet.

Review and opinion by Mr. PHILIPPE W. Published on 03/06/2016

Is the content of the bottle tasted by the experts at Guide Hachette the same? Despite decanting and tasting it again the next day, I found it to be a closed, very tannic, very powerful wine. This wine is not seductive on the nose, the tannins are not mellow but aggressive, and I did not find the advertised aromas of vanilla, blackberry, licorice, etc.
