2*Coup de Coeur

Hachette

“An intense, brilliant, and crystal-clear garnet: the appearance of this 2013 is flawless. The wine is equally seductive on the nose, with elegant aromas of red and black fruits and subtle hints of spice, vanilla, and oak. Powerful on the attack, full-bodied, and bursting with jammy blackberry flavors, the wine unfolds with velvety tannins, then reveals a welcome freshness in a delicately vanilla-tinged finish.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2016)

A light-bodied wine with notes of bell pepper and little depth. It offers decent value for money, nothing more—in any case, it’s a far cry from the 3 stars Hachette awarded it.

A huge disappointment! The "experts" at Hachette clearly didn't taste what I did! I couldn't detect even a hint of spice, vanilla, or oak... this wine has very little flavor. It feels like I'm drinking a Loire wine made from grapes that never saw the sun. I don’t understand how this differs from the advertised description. Judging by the other reviews, I’m not the only one who feels this way... Very disappointed

I agree with Philippe; the description has nothing to do with the wine we tasted: none of the aromas described are present, except for the freshness—not to mention the green notes, or even the acidity. It’s almost a scam; I’m not going to give Buzet another chance.

Review by Mr. PHILIPPE W. Posted on March 6, 2016

Is the wine tasted by the experts at the Guide Hachette the same? Despite decanting and tasting it again the next day, I found the wine to be closed, very tannic, and very powerful. This wine is not seductive on the nose; the tannins are not integrated but aggressive, and I did not detect the advertised aromas of vanilla, blackberry, and licorice...
