2*Coup de Coeur

Hachette

"The flagship of the range, made from old Malbec vines harvested by hand and aged for eighteen months in oak barrels. The 2010, a deep garnet color, opens with a well-developed and complex nose where the nuances of the aging process complement the fruit. Solidly structured, the palate is full-bodied, concentrated, and persistent, supported by firm tannins that suggest real aging potential. However, this bottle can be enjoyed soon with traditional confit or a fine ribeye steak.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2013)

About the wine:

The flagship of the range, made from old Malbec vines harvested by hand and aged for eighteen months in oak barrels. The 2010 vintage, a deep garnet color, opens with a well-developed and complex nose where the nuances of the aging process complement the fruit. Solidly structured, the palate is full-bodied, concentrated, and persistent, supported by firm tannins that suggest real aging potential. However, this bottle can be enjoyed soon with traditional confit or a nice ribeye steak.

About the estate:

A 50-hectare estate founded in 1862 on the second and third terraces of the Lot River. Today, the fifth and sixth generations work together—Anne and Emmanuelle Burc have joined their father, Jean-Luc—and produce Cahors wines of consistently high quality.
