"A handsome man from Marmande!"

“The Malbec and Abouriou add depth to the Merlot in this very seductive 2022, which offers aromas of dark fruit, spices, and smoky oak. More pronounced on the palate, the aging process envelops a lovely, elegant, luscious, and fresh structure, interwoven with silky tannins. Ripe yet lively, with a very alluring texture, it can be enjoyed now without waiting too long, although its aging potential is undeniable.” (Le Guide Hachette 2026).

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

On their family estate in the Côtes du Marmandais, Véronique Broutet and her husband Frédéric founded Domaine de Beyssac in 2006. The winery was built in 2009, and the journey continues today with these 14 contiguous hectares, situated on a well-exposed hillside and cultivated using biodynamic methods since 2017. All grapes are harvested by hand, and natural, spontaneous ground cover is encouraged. The wines from this beautiful terroir are dense and smooth. They start out serious and vigorous, then mellow and reveal their character after three years. The 2015 and 2016 vintages are particularly successful.

About the wine:

Malbec and Abouriou lend structure to the Merlot in this very seductive 2022, which offers aromas of dark fruit, spices, and oak smoke. More pronounced on the palate, the aging process envelops a lovely, elegant, luscious, and fresh body, interwoven with silky tannins. Ripe yet lively, with a very alluring texture, it can be enjoyed now without waiting too long, even though its aging potential is undeniable.

About the estate:

A successful career change for Frédéric Broutet, who built this winery from the ground up in 2009. With his 12.5 hectares of vineyards in Marmande, this “new winemaker” has achieved remarkable technological milestones: an eco-friendly winery, organic farming from the very beginning, and biodynamic practices since 2016.
