About the estate:

In the Ribes family, everyone has their place. Jean-Luc, who plays the blues in his spare time, took over the family estate in 1981; over time, he was joined by Frédéric and Cathy, and later by Pierre. The estate covers 23 hectares of boulbènes and gravel soils.

About the estate:

With the arrival of their children, Grégoire and Anne, the Ribes family incorporated the vineyards of Château Flotis—a neighboring property they had already been managing—into Le Roc. The Syrah and Négrette grapes, grown on a stony hillside, have thus joined the estate’s portfolio. The grafted Bouysselet, vinified in barrels, produces an ambitious white wine; alongside it, the Négrettes remain at their best thanks to meticulous and increasingly modern winemaking techniques.

About the wine:

Made from grapes grown in the estate’s finest vineyards, this wine offers aromas of ripe red fruit and licorice. Naturally fermented in concrete tanks and then aged in old oak barrels, the dark fruit is still firm, with layers of toasted bread and black pepper flavors. The tannins need time to soften, so it should be enjoyed starting in 2026.

A deep black color complements the aroma of black fruits. The palate is well-balanced and has good length. This 100% Négrette was the most popular wine of the evening among all the tasters.
